Yeast dough hearts

Preparation: approx. 50 min. | Baking time: 25 min.

for 12 persons

Ingredients

Dough
300 g flour
25 g yeast
50 g sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 egg
1 dl milk
70 g softened butter
Filling
2 apples (about 320 g)
1 lemon, juice
220 g familia Crunchy Müesli (e.g. familia Choco Crunch)
Glaze
1 tbsp lemon juice
5 tbsp powdered sugar

Preparation

Dough

  1. Knead all ingredients into a soft dough
  2. Cover the dough and leave to rise in a warm place for approx. 3 hours, until it has doubled in volume

Filling

  1. Peel and halve apples, remove the core
  2. Grate the apples using a coarse grater
  3. Mix immediately with lemon juice
  4. Combine the grated apples with Müesli

Production

  1. Roll out dough into a rectangle of approx. 30 x 40 cm
  2. Spread the filling evenly over the dough
  3. Roll up the dough from both sides towards the center
  4. Cut them into 3 cm wide pieces
  5. Place on two baking trays and shape into heart
  6. Place them on two baking sheets
  7. Let them rise for another 20 minutes approx

Baking

  1. Bake in the preheated oven at 180°C (convection) for approx. 25 minutes

Glaze

  1. Mix lemon juice and icing sugar for the glaze
  2. Brush the warm hearts with the icing
  3. Leave to cool on a wire rack
