bio-familia Sustainability Report 2025
bio-familia AG stays on course towards net zero
bio-familia increased its Müesli production by around 3% in 2025. At the same time, we reduced emissions where we can make the greatest impact: our raw materials. Emissions in this area fell by 2%. We also made further progress at our production site in Sachseln, where direct emissions decreased by 4%. Meanwhile, the CO₂e intensity per kilogram of Müesli produced remained almost stable.
This progress was driven by a range of targeted measures. These included more precise information on the origin of our raw materials, adjustments to our sourcing strategy and a revised raw material mix. For example, we sourced more ingredients with comparatively lower emission factors, including apples and sultanas. At the same time, we simplified processes, consolidated selected raw materials and established new sourcing channels.
We also continued to invest in climate-related improvements at our production site. One important milestone in 2025 was the conversion of a band oven from propane gas to electric heating. This reduced emissions by 37 tonnes of CO₂e. In the coming years, we expect this measure to deliver annual savings of more than 120 tonnes of CO₂e.
Our latest Sustainability Report shows that the journey towards net zero is a long-term commitment. The key is to focus on the areas where we can make the greatest impact and to communicate our progress transparently.
