Winter porridge

Winter porridge

Preparation time: approx. 15 minutes
Serves 4


600 ml milk

200 ml cream

1 vanilla bean, with the pulp scraped out

1 tbsp sugar

200 g müesli, e.g. familia Bio Birchermüesli Original or familia Bio Müesli Aronia Berry & Raspberry


2 apples, e.g. Braeburn, cored and sliced

2 tbsp raw sugar

1 tsp butter

1-2 mandarin oranges, sliced

30 g peeled almonds, coarsely chopped, toasted

30 g pistachios, chopped

4 tbsp clear honey


  1. Porridge: Combine the milk, cream, vanilla bean pulp and sugar in a pot and bring to the boil. Add the müesli mix and simmer over low heat, stirring constantly, for 10 to 15 minutes.
  2. Garnish: Coat the apples in the raw sugar and then fry them on both sides in the butter.
  3. Divide the porridge into bowls and garnish with the apples, mandarin orange slices, toasted almonds and pistachios. Drizzle with honey.


You can also add dried fruit, blood orange slices, cinnamon, etc. to the porridge.
