Müesli Porridge

Preparation time: approx. 25 minutes
Serves 4


450 g cherries, stoned

2 tbsp sugar

2 tbsp water

¼ tsp cinnamon

300 ml milk

200 ml water

1 tbsp sugar

½ tsp salt

150 g familia müesli (e.g. Bio Birchermüesli)

100 ml full-fat cream, whipped to stiff peaks

2 bsp unsalted shelled pistachio nuts, roughly chopped


  1. Combine cherries, sugar, water and cinnamon in a pan and simmer, covered, for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
  2. Heat the milk, water, sugar and salt to the boil, add the müesli, and simmer over low heat for approximately 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Take the pan off the heat.
  3. Mix the whipping cream with the porridge and top with the cherry compote. Sprinkle with the chopped pistachios.


Use frozen cherries instead of fresh.
